A 3-STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO APPLY SHEET MASKS FOR THE BEST RESULTS

Thanks to sheet masks, looking after your skin and keeping it hydrated and healthy has never been so simple. But, how you apply sheet masks can dramatically affect the results you’ll see.

Highly effective at providing your skin with essential hydration and nutrients, sheet masks encourage the deep absorption of the mask serum and also seal your skin - if you’re applying them correctly.

We want you to achieve the best results from using sheet masks. So, here we’ve shared our simple three-step guide on how best to apply them.

Step One: Preparation

First, you need to make sure you prepare your skin so it’s clean and ready to fully absorb the mask serum.

Remove all makeup and cleanse your skin thoroughly with a gentle facial cleanser and warm water. If you have time, we also recommended exfoliating your skin to remove dead skin cells and open and unclog your pores. Pat your skin dry with a soft towel and then apply toner. It’s really important to apply toner before using a sheet mask because this will help to balance your skin’s pH levels and will encourage your pores to take on the maximum amount of mask serum. The more serum your skin absorbs the more hydrated and glowing your complexion will look.

Step Two: Application

Sheet masks can look intimidating but trust us when we say the more you use them, the more confident you’ll become with applying them.

Remove the mask from the packaging, peel off the protective film and apply evenly to your face. The trick to seeing the best results is to make sure that the mask is sat flat to your skin as much as possible. With this in mind, we recommend applying the mask to your forehead first and then working your way down your face, ending up at your chin and neck. Gently smooth out any air bumps or wrinkles in an outward motion so the mask is tight to your skin in all areas.

As sheet masks are one size fits all, don’t worry if the mask feels too big. Simply fold over the edges so it sits comfortably on your face. Now it’s time to relax for 20 to 25 minutes. After this time has passed you can gently peel the mask off your face and discard it.

It’s important to note here that you don’t need to wash your face after using a sheet mask. Simply massage the excess serum into your face and neck.

Step Three: Complete Your Routine

Sheet masks aren’t a substitute for your daily skincare routine, they’re an addition, so after using a sheet mask it is essential to follow with your normal skincare regime.

If you want to use fewer products than you normally would that’s fine, but we highly recommend using a moisturiser as this will help to lock in the moisture and nutrients you’ve just treated your face to. If you’re using a sheet mask in the morning, don’t forget to apply SPF.

GLIST Recommends

If you’re new to sheet masks, we recommend that you start by using them twice a week. Because we’ve developed GLIST sheet masks with natural ingredients, they’re suitable for all skin types, especially people with sensitive skin, which means you can build up to using them every day if you wish to.

The more you use them, the better results you’ll see. Thanks to sheet masks, looking after your skin and keeping it hydrated and healthy has never been so simple. But, how you apply sheet masks can dramatically affect the results you’ll see.
